"Take me away, take me away from all the pain and burden." My shoulders slope as cynical as I am. The prejudice enters one ear and shreds my mind away. The hate crimes flee before one ever can question them. The day rises and fades-the night whispers to engulf it- "Take me away, take me away from the pain and burden." The answer rising yonder, The stories told to the ages, The ashes cried and faith died, The flowers crumbling in the shade- The grief calling & fox running- Escape can beat it away. "Tear me away, tear me away from the pain and burden." Uneventful night, quiet, sound nowhere, Alone in the cold war of the world- Where, where is it you seek-- Up and yonder-through and through? Stop the breezes, the twinge, the pleas- Stop me from being cynical- Have hope and arise above all. "Take me away, take me away from all the pain and burden."
