I’m being caught by dainty hands,
By a fragile voice that hardly can last, but not least,
I’m falling hard and I’m afraid,
I’ll break the both of us, with the weight of my guilt.

He’s petite, so skinny yet fat with sweet lyrics,
His smile isn’t perfect but intentions are luminous,
Opposites attract and he’s definitely attractive,
Hard to say how his voice sounds since he hardly talks at all.

I wonder of his shyness, is it in modesty or pain,
If what I do to him is going in vain,
If his fragile figure is partially an act,
If his bones really aren’t made up of glass.

I hope I’m not underestimating a great force,
That I’m not degrading his status,
Hopefully what I see on the surface is there hidden deep,
That I’m not only giving him half credit.

I hope he won’t break underneath my heavy breathing,
That his porcelain features will up hold my weighing past,
I wonder if he knows what is beneath my metal guard,
And wish the greatest that he doesn’t.

Because underneath it all I’m glass as well.
I’ll break,
I’ll shatter,
And I’m trying to protect myself.

zippy1357: "opposites attract and he's definitely attractive" this is actually one of the few poems on this site that doesn't suck. this is really really really good, and that is coming from someone that HATES non rhyming poetry. the third to last verse is a little weaker than the others, a little wordy, but otherwise this is excellent. it has a very personal and lyrical feeling to it and some of the plays you do with words are very clever, keep doing that in the future. this is really great, i'd be proud.
