Even though I'm sure it is over,
Even though I want you to move on,
Part of me is screaming, don't let him fall for another one.

Even though I ended it,
Even though I said we're through,
There is still a part of me saying I should hold on to you.

You like another, as you should,
But the selfish part of me,
Is yelling, crying, shouting, "You're mine!"

I know that you were never mine,
That I donâ??t even cross your mind,
But that selfish voice in me wants you to myself.

It's dumb how bad I want you,
Now that I can not have you,
Now that you donâ??t hold onto me anymore.

Its stupid how when I see you,
I know I don't wish to be with you.
Yet when you're gone I long for you all the same.

I can't believe these crazy feelings,
I know your not the one for me,
But all the same I wish that you would focus just on me.

It's horrible, these thought I have,
They make me sick at myself,
They make me want to cry and yell.

I'm such a selfish woman, to think you live only for me,
I just want us to be friends,
But I want me to be all you see.

I'm sorry, love, I really am,
I won't get in your way,
But please, oh please, let us be friends,
Let our friendly bond stay.

And God, if you are there,
Which I often doubt you are,
Please don't let these selfish feelings mess anything up,
For him, for her, or for me.
