Random Poem

Rain trickles on my skin,
Cold but refreshing,
Droplets fuse together on the ground,
Forming murky puddles.

I lift my head up,
Letting the sky's tears hit my face,
I listen to the pitter patter,
Of rain hitting buildings, plants, and things.

Clothing stuck right to my skin,
The world seems to be sleeping,
Streetlights shine, dimly lit,
Lighting up every droplet,
As it plummets to earth.

Tree leaves rustle in the wind,
Tranquility seeps into my every pore,
My hair clings to the base of my neck,
And thin streams cross my lips.

My troubles seem to wash away,
A smile spreads across my face,
There really is no better time,
Than when it rains.

As I sit underneath a tree,
I do recall from my memory,
A child playing in the park,
The sky opened up with a clap,
And made the little boy look upward.

As his innocent face was splashed with rain,
He turned to his mother calling,
His eyes wide with amazement,
"It's a miracle mom, the sky is falling."
