What you did for me,
Was make not believe,
How can I believe,
In someone I can't see.
How can I believe,
That you can save lives,
If so many around me,
Have gotten sick,
Have died.
How can I believe,
You hear all our prayers,
If everything I prayed,
Was left unanswered,
Ignored.
How can I believe,
That you created Earth,
When science tells me otherwise.
How can I believe,
That we should worship you,
If all around,
Have gotten nothing in return,
Just death,
Pain,
And loneliness.
How can I believe,
You will heal all my wounds,
When I've already carried them,
For my whole life,
Never finding release.
How can I believe,
In someone I can't see,
Whom we're supposed to trust,
Will make life better,
Whose rules we must follow,
Or we shall go to hell,
How can I believe?
So you see,
What you did for me,
Was leave my prayers unanswered,
What you did for me,
Was make me not believe.
