Goodbye Sargeant Reynolds, And have a nice day
Watching your friends lives get taken, blown away
Seen so many streets, and they all look the same
Another mans soul goes to Heaven and no-one takes the blame
You carry the world's freedom on your shoulder of two
Keep resent in your heart for the men in your platoon
You saw the death of a boy, he was only seventeen
The last your saw was his corpse being dragged away by your team
Don't cry Sargeant Reynolds, For when you get home
I will tell the people that the hero in you stands alone
Although we may not win and the war may be in vain
I'll always think of my Sargeant Reynolds, every time it rains.
