Random Poem

Lying in the silence of night
Hearing the ants scatter around, picking at me
How do I make them stop?

I would gaze at the stars
A speck of dust in the eyes of God
Where am I?

The days had lost their meaning
The light simply wasn’t all that warm
How do I feel again?

Fear was not a good companion
Hiding in woods that none dared enter
Who would find the real me?

No majestic peak would satisfy
No bit of knowledge held a true answer
Why am I here?

I had forgotten how empty I was
The pain was simply numb
Who could cure it?

The ocean small and mountains tall
Life feels so weak in comparison
Is life greater than this?

----------------------------------------

And I wish I knew all of the answers.
Life poses such great mysteries, However
I am surer of this now than I’ve ever been of anything.

Left and down, a solution rests.
