in this land of make believe
these pains they seem so real
why's this blood warm in my dream
and what of the pains i feel

the tears are warm and bitter
and the laughter sounds the same
cause in this land i'm a quitter
and it's a sign for me to change

to help restore the balance
of love against the pain
this battle is my challenge
for me to help or take the blame

in this dream i fell asleep
on a cold stony bed
but how could this make believe
be a dream when i am dead?

i'll prove this nightmare wrong
and share my love with all the world
let everybody now belong
and join hands with boys and girls

we'll be a family
of mistfits and outcasts

held together by unity

of countless pains
and troubled pasts
