I don't know how to tell you
how I feel with you
I used to wonder
if you felt that way too

I feel happy when I'm with you
sad when you're away
even though I have no reason
to like you that way

you tease me and make me mad
yet I'm still in love with you
maybe it's because you listen
like nooone else could do

one day I told my friend
of the secret that I had
she asked you how you thought of me
the news made me sad

you said you only liked bad girls
I was too nice for you
I was the goody too-shoes of the group
and I didn't know what to do

I thought long and hard about changing
ask my friends, they'll confirm
but I decided that when you're ready for me
your feelings won't be so stern

so I'll admire from a far
you don't have to love me
I'll keep you as a friend
if that's all we can be

I'll always be there
when you need me there
that's what friends are for
to show how much they care
